Erin and Peter's Grain Exchange Wedding

by Andrew Feller

I first met the Coulters at a Yelp Christmas party 2 years ago. They saw this photographer egging on a “less than sober” Santa and said, “Yeah, thats the guy we want to photograph our wedding.” And, as they say, the rest is history.

The instructions were simple: capture the day. Erin and Peter gave me no restrictions. A photographer's dream!

We arrived for our pre-day site check and then were off and running with prep photos in the host room. The Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown is an absolutely stunning venue.  The decorative hallways and staircases created the perfect backdrop for first look photos.

I like photographing the bridal party portraits before the ceremony when everyone is freshly dressed and really excited.  In addition, doing bridal party photos early relieves a huge amount of stress off the entire group (and no waiting for photos after the ceremony - everyone can go straight for a cocktail).  So after our mini portrait session inside the Hilton we wandered around the surrounding streets and river walk to snap some group photos.

Anyone that has ever been to The Grain Exchange knows two things will be for certain: spectacular ambiance and amazing food. Erin and Peter's day was no different.

The evening was filled with love, laughter, and dancing…. so much great dancing.  Peter and Erin put on quite the show with a choreographed first dance that would give any contestant on Dancing with the Stars a run for their money.

Erin and Peter agreed to one last photo (remember, no restrictions!) When you have downtown backdrop and beautiful weather, there is absolutely no reason you shouldn't dance in the streets on your wedding day. Thank you so much Erin and Peter! It was an honor to capture such an amazing day.
