There is never a shortage of great festivals, music, food and otherwise, that showcase the amazing local talent. This past Saturday was a busy one, but that wasn't going to stop me from at least getting out for a little fun with some friends at the Summer Soulstice Music Festival.
The morning started with my favorite yoga friends, Urban Om, who invited me out to photograph a 108 Sun Salutation yoga practice in a park near the festival. One thing I love about photographing their workshops is watching them engage with the people in their class. Between sets of sun salutations they mixed in some fun group work and humor that really brought the group together.
After all the yoga fun I met up with Chelsie from Yelp to wander around the rest of the festival and take in all the wonderful food and happenings going on during the afternoon. We decided to keep things casual and just enjoy the sites, smells, and music.... but pro tip, if you ever see someone wearing an "I <3 Yelp" T-shirt at an event ask them for a pair of sunglasses, they are pretty great and super stylish.
Big shout out and thank you to The Eastside for putting this festival together every year. It was a great afternoon, and all my friends that stayed for the nights music had an amazing time. This was truly the perfect way to kick off the summer season.
