Alyssa and Jon's Engagement Hart Park (with fun detour)

Its one of my favorite times of the year.  The weather is perfect to get outside for photo shoots around town, and all of the couple that are getting married this fall are getting excited to celebrate with an engagement session.  This particular day was especially wonderful for Alyssa and Jon because not only were they celebrating their upcoming wedding with an their photo shoot, but they literally closed on their house that afternoon.  So to capture the memory we decided to start at their new home with a quick photo in front of the home they will be sharing as they continue their lives together.

I've known Jon for many years.  We are old college friends, former co-workers, and, for a very brief moment, bandmates.  It's safe to say that I know a few things about Jon, and he is one of those guys who wears his heart on his sleeve and has a lot of love to give.  Alyssa's got herself a good guy but, on occasion, he can be a handful... the photo below pretty much sums up his quirkiness :)

They have a pretty cute "how he asked me" story.  Alyssa was in Europe studying abroad and the day after she came home Jon was insistent that she come out to the open mic he was hosting at the time.  During the night there was a "raffle" of sorts and Jon wrote "Will you marry me" on each of the tickets to ensure that Alyssa would pick a winner ;)

These two are pretty wonderful and I can't wait to capture their wedding day this August.  Enjoy the rest of summer and that beautiful house guys, see you soon.
